Councilors
Members of the city council are representativesof the district residents elected by the way of common-equal-direct-secretvotes. Sokcho city council is made up of 7 members.
Chairman / Vice Chairman
- Chairman and vice chairman are elected by themembers of the council through secret ballot.
Each member carries out a 2-year term. - The chairman acts to represent the council, handles all proceedingsand deliberations, maintains order in the chamber and supervises all affairs ofthe council.
- Vice chairman acts on the chairman's behalf in the event ofhis absence.
